“Jameela Bi (50) was shot at, apparently by unidentified person (s), when she was at her residence in Indira Sahayta Nagar,” said Gautam Nagar police station in-charge, Mukhtar Qureshi.

Her son spotted her lying with blood oozing from her shoulder, the officer said, adding that Jameela was rushed to hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Surprisingly, no one in the house heard sound of the gun shot, the officer said, adding the motive behind the murder is not known immediately.
