A group of students from Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University in Bihar’s Bhagalpur threw rotten eggs and ink at former Delhi Law Minister Jitender Singh Tomar of the Aam Aadmi Party as he was brought to the university premises for further probe on Friday.
According to reports, the students also raised slogans against Tomar, and also the Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani.
Exhibiting anger against Tomar for bringing disrepute to the university, the students protested outside the university.
The officials present with the leader when he was brought to Biswanath Law College in Munger, Bihar, where he claims to have studied laws, stated that college records showed that he had enrolled in the college in 1994-95 and passed his law examination in 1998-99.
However, the provisional law degree of Tomar, bearing serial no. 3687 and issued on May 18, 2001,was, according to TMBU authorities, had never been issued to Tomar at any point of time.
Tomar, who claimed to have secured a BSc degree from KS Saket PG College and RML Avadh University in Faizabad, failed to locate his classroom, physics laboratory and the washroom. The police said it was further proof that he had forged his degree.
