A property dealer who came to a petrol vend in Gurgaon in Haryana to greet its owner on Diwali was shot dead by four unidentified men, police said on Wednesday.

The assailants on two motorbikes fired at Raju, 32, on Tuesday night when he stepped out of his SUV. Police said Raju received more than four gunshots.

The attack was recorded by CCTV cameras installed at the petrol vend.

“The police control room received information around 10.50 p.m. on Tuesday that some people on two bikes had shot a person at Mata Sheetla petrol pump on Palam Vihar Road,” a police officer said.

On enquiry, police found that Raju, a resident of Mayfield Garden in Gurgaon, was shot dead by four people who fled from the spot leaving behind one of their motorbikes.

The victim was rushed to a hospital but was declared by doctors as brought dead.

Police said the killing could be due to a gang war. Authorities said vital clues have been obtained and the attackers will be nabbed soon.
