Delhi Police on Monday detained the sacked AAP minister Sandeep Kumar’s personal secretary in connection with his alleged role in circulating the sex CD, reported PTI.
Kumar was arrested on Saturday night on rape and other charges hours after he surrendered before police following a complaint by a woman, who purportedly figured in an “objectionable” CD with him.
“Kumar was arrested on rape and other charges as per details that emerged during preliminary investigation,” DCP (Outer Delhi) Vikramjeet Singh told PTI.
36-year-old Kumar sacked Delhi minister, who was suspended by AAP, will be produced in a court today (Sunday).
The 40-year-old woman’s statement was recorded before a magistrate under Section 164 of CrPC.
Meanwhile, his wife has defended Kumar adding that he was innocent.
She claimed that her husband was “falsely implicated” in the sex cd scandal.
“My husband is innocent, I stand by him. Rape charges against my husband are wrong,” Ritu Kumar told a news channel in Delhi.
The embattled ex-minister’s wife, according to PTI, said that the charges were part of a “political conspiracy against her innocent husband” and that her entire family was with Mr Kumar at this hour.
The lawmaker from Sultanpur Majra has been sent to one day police custody after being arrested yesterday on rape and other charges following a complaint by a woman, who purportedly figured in an “objectionable” CD with him. He was also suspended from AAP after the scandal came to light.
