मुंबई पुलिस ने आरे कॉलोनी में पेड़ों की कटाई को लेकर हुए प्रदर्शनों के बीच शनिवार सुबह पूरी कॉलोनी और उसके आसपास के इलाकों में धारा 144 लागू कर दी। बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के आरे से जुड़ी याचिकाओं को खारिज करने के बाद शुक्रवार रात से ही पेड़ काटने का काम शुरू हो गया था। लेकिन, जैसे ही पेड़ों की कटाई का काम शुरू हुआ तो स्थानिय लोगों ने इसका विरोध शुरू कर दिया। जिसके बाद पुलिस ने देर रात इन लोगों को हिरासत में ले लिया, जिसमें कई महिलाएं भी शामिल है।
वहीं, अब इस मामले पर बॉलिवुड के भी तमाम सिलेब्रिटीज ट्वीट कर अपना विरोध जता रहे हैं। फरहान अख्तर, दिया मिर्जा, स्वरा भास्कर और उर्मिला मातोंडकर समेत बॉलीवुड के कई कलाकारों ने ‘मेट्रो कार शेड’ के लिए आरे कॉलोनी में पेड़ों की कटाई किए जाने की निंदा की।
फिल्मों के अलावा सोशल मुद्दों पर काफी ऐक्टिव रहने वाले ऐक्टर फरहान अख्तर ने ट्वीट किया, ‘रात में पेड़ों को काटना एक गलत प्रयास है। ऐसा करने वाले भी जानते हैं कि वे गलत कर रहे हैं।’ उन्होंने ट्विटर पर इसके साथ आरे, ‘ग्रीन इज गोल्ड’ और मुंबई हैशटैग का इस्तेमाल किया।

वहीं, पर्यावरण से जुड़े मामलों पर हमेशा अपनी राय रखने वाली ऐक्ट्रेस दिया मिर्जा ने एक विडियो शेयर किया जिसमें पेड़ों की कटाई हो रही है। इसे शेयर करते हुए उन्होंने पूछा, ‘क्या यह अवैध नहीं है? यह अभी आरे में हो रहा है। क्यों? कैसे?’ दिया मिर्जा ने सिलेसिलेवार ट्वीट कर कहा कि इस ‘नरसंहार’ को रोकने की जरूरत है।
अभिनेत्री ने कहा, ‘रात के अंधेरे में 400 पेड़ काटे गए। नागरिक तौर पर हम एकजुट होकर इस नरसंहार को रोकने की गुजारिश कर रहे हैं। क्या आप देख नहीं सकते कि वे प्यार से एकजुट हैं? प्रकृति के लिए प्यार। हमारे बच्चों तथा भविष्य के लिए प्यार।’ एक अन्य ट्वीट में मिर्जा ने कहा कि पेड़ काटने की मंजूरी दिए जाने और आधिकारिक वेबसाइट पर नोटिस अपलोड होने के बाद 15 दिन की इंतजार की अवधि होनी चाहिए।

पेड़ों की कटाई पर ट्विटर पर एक वीडियो साझा करते हुए अभिनेत्री ऋचा चड्ढा ने कहा, ‘‘अगर आप अभिभावक हैं और छाया देने वाले पेड़ों को रात में काटे जाने को लेकर गुस्से में नहीं हैं तो मुझे बताइए कि आप अपने बच्चों की आंखों में देखकर क्या महसूस करते हैं।’’

स्वरा भास्कर ने ट्वीट किया, ‘‘और यह शुरू हो गया है। आरे वन, आरे कॉलोनी को ध्वस्त किया जा रहा है।’’ अभिनेत्री पूजा भट्ट ने कहा कि एक ‘‘निष्पक्ष, नैतिकतापूर्ण, न्यायपूर्ण और मानवीय वि में चीजें दूसरे तरीके से होनी चाहिए।’’

अभिनेत्री उर्मिला मातोंडकर ने कहा कि आरे में जो भी हो रहा है वह ‘‘असल मायने में समझ से परे हैं।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘पहला यह कि बंबई उच्च न्यायालय कह रहा है कि आरे वन क्षेत्र नहीं है। वहीं, दूसरा यह कि अदालत के आदेश का पालन करने में काफी तत्परता दिखाई गई। तीसरा, झूठा गुस्सा दिखाने के ट्वीट से जिम्मेदारी से बचा नहीं जा सकता।’’

बंबई उच्च न्यायालय ने 2,600 से अधिक पेड़ों को काटे जाने के खिलाफ गैर लाभकारी संगठनों की चार याचिकाओं को शुक्रवार को खारिज कर दिया था। इसके कुछ घंटों बाद मुंबई मेट्रो रेल कोरपोरेशन लिमिटेड (एमएमआरसीएल) हरकत में आ गया और उसने ‘मेट्रो कार शेड’ के लिए पेड़ काटने शुरू कर दिए है।
