Aam Aadmi Party on Wednesday confirmed that Kumar Vishwas was not going to Rajya Sabha. Confirming the media reports, Delhi’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia, on Wednesday said that three names put forward by the party for the Rajya Sabha seats were Sanjay Singh, Narayan Gupta and Sushil Gupta.
The decision was approved after the party’s PAC met at the residence of Chiwef Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Interestingly, three PAC members, Sanjay Singh, Asutosh and Kumar Vishwas did not attend the Wednesday’s crucial meeting as they were not invited.
Sushil Gupta is currently the president of Punjabi Bagh Club and had recently left Congress to join Aam Aadmi Party. He had also contested the assembly polls on Congress ticket.
Some media reports also suggested that AAP had approached seven top names who had achieved remarkable feat in their own fields. One of them was the former RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan, who had publicly turned down the offer.
