AAP reportedly decides to send these three names to Rajya Sabha

Aam Aadmi Party has reportedly made up its mind on the three names it intends to send to Rajya Sabha after 16 January elections.

According to a report by News18, they are Sanjay Singh, Sushil Gupta and ND Gupta.

ND Gupta is a chartered accountant and is currently functioning as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India’s vice president. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has showered praises on him in the past.

As for Sushil Gupta, he is currently the president of Punjabi Bagh Club and had recently left Congress to join Aam Aadmi Party. He had also contested the assembly polls on Congress ticket.

The party has yet to comment on the reports of three names. However, some sources said that Sanjay Singh had been asked to prepare his documents for 5 January nominations. Singh been with the party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal since its inception more than five years ago.

The party’s political affairs committee is set to meet on Wednesday after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia return to Delhi.

The source also added that Kumar Vishwas will not be sent to Rajya Sabha. Vishwas, who had expressed his desire to be considered for the Upper House, was in news recently after his supporters stormed the AAP office to put up a banner in his support.

Some media reports also suggested that AAP had approached seven top names who had achieved remarkable feat in their own fields. One of them was the former RBI governor, Raghuram Rajan, who had publicly turned down the offer.
