Unknown assailants have gunned down at least 19 passengers travelling in two different buses in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

This incident took place in Balochistan’s Mastung district and the buses were on their way to Karachi.

Balochistan’s interior minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed the deaths of 19 passengers while speaking to BBC Urdu.

Bugti, on the other hand, told news agency Reuters that the attackers were in army uniform.

Quoting the Balochistan chief minister Abdul Malik Baloch, Pakistan’s national TV said that there will be three days of state mourning in the province.

According to reports, the attackers after stopping the buses instructed all 25 passengers to get off the buses. They allowed five passengers to go while killing the remaining 19. Most of those killed are reported to be from Balochistan’s Pasheen district.

Baloch CM urged everyone to join his government to fight against what he described was a menace of terrorism.
