Demand grows for action against ‘journalist’ for threatening cricketer; Ravi Shastri wants Sourav Ganguly to act, Virendra Sehwag takes brutal dig

Demands are growing for action against the so-called journalist, who threatened cricketer Wriddhiman Saha for not giving an interview after former India coach Ravi Shastri urged BCCI President Sourav Ganguly to act. In a brutal dig, former India batsman Virendra Sehwag said that the culprit in question was neither ‘respected’ nor a ‘journalist.’

Shastri took to Twitter to write, “Shocking a player being threatened by a journo. Blatant position abuse. Something that’s happening too frequently with #TeamIndia. Time for the BCCI PREZ to dive in. Find out who the person is in the interest of every cricketer. This is serious coming from ultimate team man WS.”

This was after Sahah took to social media to expose the so-called journalist as he shared the screenshot of his WhatsApp chat. While Saha did not disclose the identity of the culprit, it didn’t take long for netizens to arrive at a conclusion on the identity of the man, who’s earned notoriety for blackmailing cricketers by using his access to BCCI officials including Ganguly.

Sehwag too extended his support to Saha as he took a brutal dig at the blackmailer. “Extremely sad. Such sense of entitlement, neither is he respected nor a journalist, just chamchagiri. With you Wriddhi.”

Ganguly has not reacted to the threats issued to Saha even the accused is believed to be one of his good friends. Several former India cricketers including Parthiv Patel had condemned the so-called journalist’s action.
