Former Bollywood singer, Abhijeet, may have a difficult time ahead as the journalist, who was a victim of his profanities and sexual assault, filed a complaint with Delhi Police on Sunday.
Swati Chaturvedi and www.jantakareporter.com’s editor-in-chief, Rifat Jawaid, were abused on Twitter by the singer on Sunday when both objected to his blatant attempts to spread misinformation on Chennai’s techie’s murder.
Singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya at Mount view in Chandigarh (Photo: Courtesy Indian Express)Abhijeet, known for his right-wing leaning, had tweeted describing Swathi’s murder as a case of Love Jihad implying that her killer was a Muslim.
Chennai Police on Saturday arrested the suspected killer, who was identified as Ram Kumar.
Chaturvedi took to Twitter to announce that she had filed a police complaint against the singer.
She tweeted, ” For all those asking complaint with number 48(B) filed with @DelhiPolice as asked for by @MumbaiPolice do take action! @Dev_Fadnavis.”

The campaign to act against the singer was initiated by www.jantakareporter.com, as we take a dim view of crimes against women and are determined to provide a platform to such victims of atrocities by lunatics in society.
Mumbai Police had called Chaturvedi only after we tagged the Mumbai Police Commissioner on Twitter wishing to speak to him on the sexual assault by Abhijeet.
