The Uri attacks that killed 20 Indian soldiers angered the former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir forcing him to take to Twitter to vent out his frustration.

In his anger on the deaths of 20 Indian jawans, Gambhir also took a potshot at his former teammate, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, for his decision to have a Bollywood biopic made on his life.

Gambhir tweeted, “These 17 martyrs deserv a biopic rather dan any cricketer. No better inspiration dan a young man sacrificing his life 4 his country. And these Jawans sacrifice their lives for paltry salaries n not disproportionate money & adulation reserved for us cricketers. Wake up.”

Soon, the former India opener was inundated with criticism with stating that his decision to drag Dhoni in the Uri attacks was in poor taste.

This forced the cricketer to issue a clarification that his criticism wasn’t meant for Dhoni but he was against the idea of biopic on a celebrity.

His tweet said, “My detractors got it wrong. Am not against ANY ONE cricketer’s biopic, am against d very concept which includes a biopic on my life.”

Dhoni’s Bollywood biopic starring Sushant Singh Rajput is scheduled to be released on 30 September.
