West Bengal chief minister, Mamata Banerjee on Monday congratulated Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar for becoming first Indian to qualify for finals in Rio Olympics.

Dipa Karmakar created history as she became the first Indian to make the cut for the individual vault finals in her debut Olympic Games after finishing eighth in the qualifying round here.
