In a stunning revelation a woman techie from Ghaziabad has approached the cops alleging molestation by as many as 43 co-workers of a company where she worked sine 2016.
The woman, who’s in her mid 20s, said that she worked in the company’s Noida office, where as many as 43 employees regularly molested her. In her complaint, filed at Noida’s Sector 58 police station, the woman alleged that she was asked to sleep with her colleagues.
A report by India Today quoted the woman as saying that a few of her colleagues also ‘showed their private parts’ to her and wanted to make sexual advances at her. She went on to allege that she had even complained to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal but ‘nothing has happened.’
“We have prepared a list of accused persons and others who work in the office will be questioned as well. We are also collecting CCTV footage from the office as the alleged harassment took place inside the office,” a cop told India Today.
The woman complained that some colleagues had even posted objectionable messages in a WhatsApp group adding that she even informed the management about it in an official meeting but no action was taken.
Police have named 21 people in the FIR, while also mentioning 22 others, whose names the complainant couldn’t confirm. “A police team questioned the accused and the company management. They claimed the woman was inefficient and not completing an assignment, which led to an issue,” Times of India quoted Pankaj Rai, SHO, Sector 58 police station.
It’s not clear why she waited for so long to file a complaint even when her complaint said that she had been a constant victim of sexual harassment since last year.
