Ahead of Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s visit to Chattisgarh, two Improvised Explosie Devices (IEDs) were recovered in Sukma’s Dhornpal region on Friday, according to media reports.
Sukma Sub-Divisional Officer of Police, Prafulla Kispotta, was reported saying, “The explosives, planted by Naxals, were recovered by a joint team of security personnel near Misma village on Sukma-Dornapal route under Dornapal Police Station limits on Friday.”
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and district force found two tiffins containing IEDs, while patrolling Sukma-Dornpal. Prafulla Kispotta further informed that the twiffins weighed 10 kg each, and were placed beneath the ground near Misma.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh would be arriving at Raipur later in the day and is also expected to visit Sukma to inaugurate a newly-built police station.
