Two powerful explosions took place inside the technical area of the Jammu airport on Sunday morning. News agency ANI reported that a forensic team had reached the spot. It quoted the Jammu and Kashmir Police as saying that one ‘terrorist’ was arrested from the Narwal area and 5 kg IED recovered.
According to some media reports, the explosions were so powerful that it could be heard even from a distance of one kilometer. News agency PTI reported that the explosions took place around 1.45 am, adding that the first blast ripped off the roof of a building and the second one was on the ground.
There were no immediate reports of any casualties.

Meanwhile, a bomb disposal squad too has rushed to the spot.
Not too long ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted politicians from Kashmir at his official residence in Delhi. Among those attending the meet included PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, National Conference leaders Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad from the Congress.
