News anchor commits suicide, leaves suicide note

A TV news anchor committed suicide in Hyderabad late on Sunday night by jumping off the fifth floor of her apartment. 36-year-old Radhika Reddy, a resident of Moosapet area in Hyderabad, worked with a Telugu channel, V6.

Cops have recovered a suicide note from her bag. In her suicide note, Reddy said, “Due to depression I am killing myself. Nobody else is the reason. My brain is my enemy.”

Reddy was living with her parents for the past six month since divorced her husband. She’s survived by her 14-year-old son, Banu Teja Reddy, who is reported to be mentally challenged.

Kukatapally Police Station Inspector V Prasanna Kumar told news agency PTI, “After her duty, she came home and at around 10.40 pm yesterday, she went to the top floor of the building and jumped. She suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot.”

Police have launched a probe after registering a case.
