Judge in Himachal Pradesh Suspended Over Sexual Harassment Complaint by Colleague

 The Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh has suspended a judge following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman judge.The judge in question has been accused by the woman of harassing her on June 8, when both were travelling to the hill town of Manali for a conference on drug abuse.

The event, attended by Supreme Court and high court judges besides those from the state judicial services, was held from June 11 to 13. The victim was asked to arrive 3-4 days in advance to make preparations for the event.

The state chief justice has ordered an inquiry. The judge will continue to remain suspended pending the completion of this inquiry in two months.
