Congress leader Manak Agarwal on Friday said that his party would file a complaint with the Election Commission and demand strict action against Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan over his alleged audio tape.

“This is highly condemnable, the Election Commission (EC) must take note of this. Congress will file a complaint with the EC and demand that strict action be taken against Shivraj Singh Chouhan,” said Agarwal.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh had earlier released an audio tape on his social media account, accusing Chouhan of seeking favours from BJP leader Rajesh Chaudhary in lieu of a better post following the Garoth Vidhan Sabha polls.

Digvijay also demanded Chouhan’s resignation over the matter.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, was swift to deny the allegations.
“It is a non-issue, just a part of Digvijay Singh ji’s dirty politics. Congress makes efforts to malign image of Shivraj Singh Chouhan before every election,” said BJP leader Vishwas Sarang.
