There are reports of senior BJP leaders actively discussing the way out in Lalit Modi controversy what it must do with the Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje.

Earlier today, the union finance minister Arun Jaitley reportedly met both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the party president Amit Shah.

Times Now reported that Jaitley’s meeting with Shah lasted for 40 minutes. The channel said that this meeting was indicative of the fact that the BJP was fast running out of patience on its Rajasthan CM.

Other reports suggested that Raje too was busy discussing her future strategy in case she was sacked.

TV reports said that as many as 20 ministers had arrived at Raje’s official residence in Jaipur to discuss the issue. This is also being seen as the Raje’s attempt to demonstrate her grip over Rajasthan BJP.

Not so long ago, almost all top BJP leaders had backed Raje saying she had not done anything wrong.

Raje has been accused of illegally helping the former IPL commissioner in the latter’s immigration application.  Her son Dushyant too is under scrutiny for alleged illegal business deals with Modi. Booth deny the charges of any wrongdoings.

Opposition parties have been protesting demanding the resignations of Raje, Dushyant and the external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who was accused of helping Modi obtain travel documents when his passport was revoked by the Indian government.

The allegations against Sushma is also about conflict of interest as her husband Swaraj Kaushal has been Lalit Modi’s lawyer for more than 22 years while her daughter Bansuri joined his legal team few years ago.
