Rahul Gandhi thanks Arun Jaitley on ‘Rafale robbery,’ gives him 6-hour ultimatum

Congress President Rahul Gandhi has thanked Union Minister Arun Jaitley on for bringing the country’s attention back to what he termed was ‘Rafale robbery.’

Seemingly responding to Jaitley’s Facebook blog, where he posed 15 questions to the Congress, Rahul tweeted, “Mr Jaitley, thanks for bringing the nation’s attention back to the GREAT #RAFALE ROBBERY! How about a Joint Parliamentary Committee to sort it out? Problem is, your Supreme Leader is protecting his friend, so this may be inconvenient. Do check & revert in 24 hrs. We’re waiting!”

On Thursday, while tagging Jaitley on Twitter, Rahul once again reminded him that only sex hours were left for the former to commit for a joint parliamentary committee to probe the allegations of irregularities in the purchase of Rafale fighter jets from France.

Rahul wrote, “Dear Mr Jaitley, Less than 6 hrs left for your deadline on the #Rafale JPC to run out. Young India is waiting. I hope you’re busy convincing Modi Ji and Anil Ambani Ji about why they should listen to you & approve this!”

The Congress has been embarrassing the central government on the Rafale deal since Janta Ka Reporter exclusively published a three-part expose last year. More recently, Industrialist Anil Ambani, a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sent Rs 5,000 crore defamation notice the Congress mouthpiece, National Herald newspaper, for carrying a story.

It’s alleged that Modi’s decision to junk the previous deal negotiated by the then UPA government was primarily to help Ambani as the latter’s newly formed defence company was preferred over the HAL for a joint venture with Dassault Aviation.
