The Delhi government has issued suspension orders for three assistant engineers working under the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board for dereliction of duties. An inquiry has also been ordered against them.
During a recent round of night shelters taken by DUSIB CEO VK Singh at the Chandni Chowk area, it was found that the situation at one such complex was unsatisfactory despite clear instructions having been given to the Shelter Management Agencies (SMAs) and the supervisory staff.
It was also observed that the field staff deployed at the area was either not inspecting the premises or giving wrong reports about the prevailing conditions. At another place, it was observed that quality of construction of the toilet complex was poor.
Along with the suspension order, an explanation of the executive engineer is also being sought and a showcause notice to the Shelter Management Agency is being issued.
Earlier this week, the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government had issued suspension orders for Sub-Registrar Raj Kumar in relation to corruption charges against him.
An enquiry conducted by the Delhi government had found Raj Kumar guilty of registering a sale deed of a property in violation of the provisions of Registration Act, 1908.
