Police in Delhi have arrested a 53-year-old Delhi government school official for sending an obscene message to a 17-year-old girl student. The government school official has been identified as Pradeep, who was appointed as a School Management Committee member of Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya by the local MLA.
Pradeep, according to news agency PTI, is accused of sending a sexually charged text message to a minor girl student in northwest Delhi’s Kanjhawala area. The girl in question studies in a government school in Kanjhawala.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Pranav Tayal, Pradeep sent ‘unusual and vulgar’ messages on her mobile seeking sexual favours.
Pradeep has been ent to judicial custody after being arrested on Sunday. He has been booked under section 354 (Assault or criminal force on to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and section 12 of the POCSO Act.
