David Warner played a blistering knock, scoring 65 in 42 balls, as Australia defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets with 18 balls to spare.
Batting first, Sri Lanka could only manage 154-6 in 20 overs. Aside from Kusal Perera, Charith Asalanka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa, no other Sri Lankan batsmen were able to contribute with substantial runs. Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka made 35 each, while Bhanuka Rajapaksa made 33.
In reply, Australia achieved the target in 17 overs by losing just three wickets. Aaron Finch made in 37 in 23 balls, while Steve Smith remained not out at 28.
Adam Zampa was declared Man Of The Match for his impressive bowling. He took two wickets by conceding just 12 runs in four overs.
This was Australia’s second win in as many matches. They’ve now occupied the second position in their group after England, who enjoy a better net run rate to grab the top position in the points table.
