Actions against insurgency led to change in mindset, says Manohar Parrikar

Referring to the special cross-border operation carried out by the Indian Army near Myanmar border two days ago, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday said that the actions against insurgency led to change in mindset of the people.

Parrikar reportedly told a news agency, “Action against insurgency led to change in mindset. So much so that people who fear India’s new posture are also reacting.” He further added, ” Therefore, change in mindset dictates change in any field.”

The Congress party on Wednesday congratulated the army for carrying out successful operations at the India-Myanmar border in the wake of Manipur ambush by militants last week.

he Indian Army carried out a rare cross-border operation inside Myanmar on Tuesday. The operation was to counter the killing of 18 soldiers in Manipur last week. In a special operation, Indian Army troops entered inside Burmese territory and neutralised a high number of militants in a hideout.
