Brave villagers in the Reasi district of the Jammu division on Sunday overpowered two dreaded terrorists and handed them over to the security agencies. One of the terrorists was wanted in the IED blasts case in the Rajouri district. Both terrorists have been identified as Talib Hussain Shah of Rajouri and Faisal Ahmed Dar of Pulwama.
Who Is Talib Hussain Shah?
In a shocking development, it has emerged that Talib Hussain Shah was IT Cell Chief of the BJP in Jammu. Shah was the head of IT and social media in-charge of BJP Minority Morcha in Jammu province.
Mukesh Singh, the Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, was quoted by The Tribune as saying, “Talib Hussain was in constant touch with LeT terrorist Qasim based in Pakistan and was involved in at least three cases of IED blast at Rajouri district besides civilian killings and grenade blasts.”
The revelation has left the BJP red-faced as it made failed attempts to defend itself. One BJP leader blamed the existing online membership system, which allowed anyone to join the party.
BJP spokesman RS Pathania was quoted by NDTV as saying, “I’d say this is a new model — entering the BJP, gaining access, doing recce… there was even a plot to kill the top leadership which was busted by the police.”
However, much to the discomfort of Pathania and his party, Shah was a key office-bearer of the BJP and not just an online member. Shah was made in-charge of the BJP IT Cell only on 9 May this year. While appointing Shah , the BJP had said in a statement, “Mr. Talib Hussain Shah, at Draj Kotranka, budhan, District Rajouri, shall be the new IT & Social Media Incharge BJP Minority Mocha Jammu Province with immediate effect.”
This is not the first time the saffron party has had to face embarrassment for prividing safe refuge to terrorists. Last week, it emerged that one of the killers of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal was also a BJP member. This had prompted the Congress to launch a blistering attack on the BJP.
