“Where’s Arnab Goswami?”: Republic TV founder’s mysterious absence from TV for over month leaves Twitterati puzzled

Arnab Goswami has been an inseparable part of his new venture, Republic TV, that he launched soon after quitting Times Now. He’s been responsible for taking the ratings of both Republic TV and its sister channel in Hindi, Republic Bharat, to an all-time high through his high-octane debate shows. However, the controversial TV anchor’s mysterious absence from his own TV channels for over a month has left Twitterati puzzled, prompting netizens to ask, ‘Where’s Arnab Goswami?’

The last time Arnab fronted a TV debate show on Republic TV was on 23 May when he was seen presenting the programme from a remote location. He had also briefly appeared on Republic TV on 2 May when the votes were counted for five states including West Bengal.

However, the Republic TV anchor had made a hasty exit as soon as it became clear that the BJP had failed to wrest power from Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal. The development had made him a topic of public ridicule on social media.

Arnab fronted The Debate Show in English on Republic TV as well as presenting the Poochta Hai Bharat programme in Hindi on Republic Bharat. Just before the assembly polls in Bengal, he had also launched his Bengali channel, Republic Bangla. His colleagues have been stepping in to present these shows in his absence.
