Marlon Samuels has attacked former England captain Michael Vaughan and Aussie bowling legend Shane Warne after they slammed the West Indies cricketer for an abusive rant against Ben Stokes.

Speaking about his 14-day quarantine experience in New Zealand, Stokes had reportedly said in a podcast for the BBC’s Test Match Special. “You get off the plane, get your bag, walk out and get told what hotel to go to.. There’s no choice, it’s pot luck whether you get a good hotel or not. The government have chosen certain hotels to be the quarantine hotels.

“I posted a few Instagram stories and some of the England boys were messaging me asking what it’s like and I was saying it wasn’t the most enjoyable thing you ever have to do, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I text my brother saying the same thing, and my brother asked: ‘You wouldn’t even do that to Marlon Samuels?’ I said ‘no, it’s that bad’ – that’s how tough it was.”

This evoked abusive reactions from Samuels on Instagram. Reacting to the West Indian cricketer’s abusive rant, Vaughan had tweeted, “This is appalling @marlonsamuels … we are trying to stamp out racism … !! A bit of banter by @benstokes38 should not lead to this …”

Warne too had hit out at Samuels, calling him an ordinary cricketer and person. He had tweeted, “I have just been sent what Samuels has posted re @benstokes38 & I. It is a very sad situation as he obviously needs serious help-but has no friends at all and not even his ex-teammates like him. Just because you were an ordinary cricketer-no need to be an ordinary person. Get help son.”

Samuels hit back at Vaughan by flaunting his wealth and claiming that his fragrance brand had made close to half a million dollars even during the coronavirus lockdown. The West Indian cricketer taunted Vaughan by asking if he would like to rent his flat in London.
