The election officials on Sunday confiscated Sonu Sood’s car while the voting was underway in the Moga assembly constituency. The actor has been ordered to stay at home until the conclusion of the voting process. The development has triggered a meme fest on Twitter.
Quoting Moga District PRO Pradbhdeep Singh, ANI reported that ‘Sonu Sood was trying to enter a polling booth.’ “During this, his car was confiscated and he was sent home. Action will be taken against him if he steps out of his house.”
Sonu’s sister Malvika is making her electoral debut from Moga on a Congress ticket.
The actor said, “We got to know of threat calls at various booths by Opposition, especially the people of Akali Dal. Money being distributed at some booths. So it’s our duty to go check and ensure fair elections. That’s why we had gone out.”
Voting is underway for 117 assembly seats of Punjab in a single phase today.
The action against Sonu Sood triggered a meme fest with his critics, particularly from the Hindu group, taking a dig at the famous actor.
