Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti found herself embroiled in a Twitter spat with former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Monday. The war of words between them became so intense that Mufti later blocked Gambhir on the microblogging site by calling him a ‘Rs 2 per tweet troll.’
It all started with Mufti reacting to the news of a PIL being filed in the Delhi High Court seeking a ban on her and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah in this year’s Lok Sabha polls. Reacting to the news, Mufti had said, “Why waste time in court. Wait for BJP to scrap Article 370. It will automatically debar us from fighting elections since Indian constitution won’t be applicable to J&K anymore. Na samjho gay tou mit jaouge aye Hindustan walo. Tumhari dastaan tak bhi na hogi dastaano main. (You will face destruction if you don’t understand you people of India, No one will be there to tell your stories in history.)”

Responding to Mufti’s tweet, Gambhir, who recently joined the BJP and may be contesting the Lok Sabha polls from Delhi, wrote, “This is India and not a blot like you, which will be erased (from the history).”
@MehboobaMufti यह भारत है, कोई आप जैसा धब्बा नहीं जो मिट जाएगा!

A sharp reply from Mufti is what followed;- “Hope ur political innings in BJP isnt as abysmal as ur cricket career!” She followed it up with another post that read, “I worry for your mental health. Am used to people trolling but this level of stalking is unhealthy. Id imagine most people sleep at night. Better to ? since you dont know anything about kashmir . Here blocking you now so u can do the 2 rupee per tweet trolling somewhere else.”
Gambhir was recently involved in another Twitter spat with another ex-CM of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, over the latter’s ‘separate PM for Kashmiri’ remarks made at an election rally.
