Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has opened up about his personal life including his fear of facing former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram to apprehension about exposing his daughter Vamika to social media.
In a Q&A session on Instagram, Virat was asked why he decided to name his first child Vamika. The fan asked, “What is the meaning of Vamika, how is she? Can we see a glimpse of her please?”
Virat refused to share the photo of his daughter as he explained, “Vamika is another name for Goddess Durga. No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice.”
Virat, however, happily shared his own photo when he was a baby.
When asked about his Googling habit, Virat said that the last time he searched anything on Google was about Christiano Ronaldo’s transfer.
Virat, who recently took the first dose of the vaccine, was asked how he felt after getting the jab. He replied, “Bit of body ache, slight fever. Nothing major though.”
Predicted to attain new greatness in world cricket, Virat has already scored 70 centuries in all forms of the game. One fan asked, “Bowler from past, who would have troubled you.” Pat came a reply from the India captain, “Wasim Akram.”
Virat is all set to lead India in the World Test Championship final in England against New Zealand. India are also scheduled to play a five-Test series against England after the WTC final.
He would also be seen leading his IPL side, Royal Challengers Bangalore, later in the UAE. This was after the BCCI announced that the remaining matches of the IPL would be held in the UAE.
Virat is married to Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma.
