भारतीय पुरुष हॉकी टीम ने रविवार को मलेशिया की मेजबानी में हुई एशियन चैम्पियंस ट्रॉफी के फाइनल मुकाबले में चिर प्रतिद्वंद्वी पाकिस्तान को हराकर खिताब जीत लिया।भारत ने पाकिस्तान को 3-2 से मात दी।
भारत के लिए रुपिंदर पाल सिंह, अफ्फान यूसुफ और निकिन थिमैया ने गोल दागे, जबकि पाकिस्तान की ओर से मोहम्मद अलीम बिलाल और अली शान ने गोल दागे। रुपिंदर ने मैच के 18वें मिनट में पेनाल्टी कॉर्नर पर गोल कर भारत को बढ़त दिलाई। पहला क्वार्टर भारत के नाम रहा।
भारत के लिए पहला गोल रुपिंदर पाल सिंह ने किया, जबकि दूसरा गोल भारत के सबसे अनुभवी खिलाड़ी सरदारा सिंह के पास पर हुआ, जब उन्होंने गेंद को रमनदीप सिंह की तरफ बढ़ाया और वहां खड़े अफान यूसुफ़ ने गेंद को गोलपोस्ट के अंदर पहुंचाने में एक पल की भी देर नही की।
भारत ने इस तरह एशियाई चैम्पियंस ट्रॉफी के फाइनल में तीसरी बार जगह बनायी। भारत ने 2011 में शुरुआती चरण में जीत दर्ज की थी जबकि 2012 में वह पाकिस्तान के बाद उप विजेता रहा था।
