Former BJP MLA, senior advocate and President of the Gujarat High Court Advocates Association, Yatin Oza, has reportedly joined Aam Aadmi Party, said a party source.

He is likely to be formally inducted into the party on Thursday.

Oza had met Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, in Rajkot during the latter’s two-day visit to Gujarat on Saturday.

“This is an informal meeting with Kejriwal but you can consider myself as having already joined AAP. A formal meeting will take place in Delhi coming Tuesday,” he had told PTI.

Oza has said that he will target Prime Minister Narendra Modi because, according to him “I am aggrieved at the way Modi is attacking judiciary and such attacks are being made to weaken it.”

According to The Telegraph, Oza was elected MLA for the first time in March 1995, from the Sabarmati constituency in Ahmedabad.

He had appointed Shah, then just a councillor, as his election agent, giving the current BJP president his first chance to display his fabled poll management skills. With Oza’s backing, Shah made his Assembly debut in 1997, winning a by-election.

Oza has also written a three-page letter to Kejriwal revealing many ‘secrets.’

In his letter, Oza claimed that the BJP President and AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi had tacit understanding and both even met in 2015 to plan strategy for Bihar elections.

He wrote, “..I would like to draw your attention about the meeting that took place between Shri Amit Shah and Shri Akbaruddin Owaisi at former’s residence at 3 am on 15th Sept. 2015. I was present in the said meeting. A detailed discussion took place and it was agreed that Shri Owaisi shall field his candidates from Bihar particularly in the Muslim belt that was to go to polls on 5th November (last phase). It was also decided that Shri Owaisi will vomit poisonous communal speech the script of which shall be written by Shri Amit Shah, which may have potentiality to result into communal divide in the society.”

According to the PTI, the state unit of BJP has denied the allegation. www.jantakareporter.com has asked the AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and the BJP President, Amit Shah requesting them to either confirm or deny the allegations. We will carry their reactions as and when we get them.
