UP: Woman attacked with acid over dowry

A 25-year-old woman was allegedly attacked with acid by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Kotwali area, police said in Sambhal on Monday.

According to the complaint lodged by the woman Farzana, her father-in-law Iqbal, husband Akram along with his brother Laeeq Ahmad and sister Kesar Jahan threw acid at her during a meeting with her family members last evening.

The victim was living with her parents. She was forced to leave her in-laws’ house as since marriage they were demanding a car and cash, Inspector Yashpal Singh Yadav said, citing the complaint.

Farzana got married to Akram around one-and-a-half-year back.

A case has been lodged against Akram and his family members and the victim was sent for medical examination, police said.

  1. Need harsh punishment from Court and kick those sh……….its from community, bloody brainless don’t they know about the Islam. Husband have to provide them everything and support them, this is happening because of other religions culture, rituals. she has to ask survival at least 1 crore or more and strict punishment for those involved.
