UK slips into deflation

For the first time in 55 years, the United Kingdom slipped into deflation.

The consumer price index (CPI) fell below 0 implying the prices of goods being lower than they were last year. The CPI fell by 0.1% from 0%in March.
The Bank of England policymakers have an inflation target of 2%.
