Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has sensationally revealed that Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has put Chelsea Football Club up for sale. Wyss told Swiss newspaper Blick that Abramovich had approached him with a chance to buy the top football club.
According to Wyss, the Russian billionaire ‘wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly’ amidst demands from the British opposition politicians to sanction the Russian in the wake of Vladimir Putin’s decision to attack Ukraine.
Wyss was quoted as saying, “Abramovich is trying to sell all of his villas in England, he also wants to get rid of Chelsea quickly.

“I and three other people received an offer on Tuesday to buy Chelsea from Abramovich.”
According to Espn.co,uk, American firm Raine Group have been appointed to handle the potential sale.
Chelsea Football Club has not reacted to the claims made by the Swiss billionaire.
The topic dominated the weekly Prime Minister’s Questions in the British parliament on Wednesday.
The 55-year-old Russian billionaire made a desperate attempt last week by handing over the control of the club to Chelsea’s charity arm.
If the British government indeed decides to impose sanctions on Abramovich, he will not be able to sell any of his UK assets including Chelsea Football Club, which is currently valued at over £ 2 billion.
Abramovich had bought Chelsea for £140 million in 2003. He is believed to have loaned £1.514 billion to the club through his company Fordstam Limited. Chelsea have won the Champions League twice, both the Premier League and FA Cup on five occasions, the Europa League twice and the League Cup three times. The English club is the reigning champions of Europe and recently won their first Club World Cup title. This means that the Blues have now won every trophy possible since Abramovich took over at the club.
