An Australian national on Sunday invaded the pitch during the India-Australia World Cup final match to voice his support for Palestine and condemn Israel for committing war crimes in Gaza. The man invading the pitch identified himself as John from Australia.
The cricket fan was wearing a T-shirt which carried a message ‘Stop bombing Palestine’ on its front. ‘Free Palestine’ was the message that read on the back of the fan’s T-shirt. He had his face covered with a mask made of Palestinian flag.
The man, who invaded the pitch later said that his name was John and he hailed from Australia, adding that he was a fan of Virat Kohli and wanted to register his protest against the Israeli war crimes in Gaza.
Breaching the security cordon at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, John went and hugged Kohli before he was taken away by the security personnel. He was later arrested by the Ahmedabad Police.
Batting first, India were all out for 240 with Kohli and KL Rahul both scoring fifties. Mitchell Starc picked up three wickets.
Israeli terrorists masquerading as soldiers have been carrying out largescale genocide in Gaza, killing close to 15,000 innocent civilians including more than 5,000 babies. Israeli terrorists have targeted hospitals, schools and places where people were taking shelter.
Western countries such as the US, the UK, Canada and the European Union have been exposed with their support for Israel in carrying out war crimes in Gaza.

What we know after 50 overs:
1) Don’t judge a pitch until both sides have bowled on it.
2) Free Palestine.— Karthik Krishnaswamy (@the_kk) November 19, 2023
