Sri Lanka on Thursday inflicted a humiliating defeat on India in the third and the final T20 International match of the series by seven wickets with 33 balls to spare. The hosts won the series 2-1. But India’s defeat prompted disappointed fans to declare Krunal Pandya the ‘Man Of The Series’ as social media exploded with meme fest.
Batting first, India could only manage 81-8 in 20 overs with only three batsmen being able to reach the double-digit mark. Kuldeep Yadav was the top scorer with 23 runs.
Wanindu Hasaranga was India’s tormentor-in-chief as the Sri Lankan bowler finished with a spell of 4-9 in four overs.
Sri Lanka had little difficulties in chasing the target as they wrapped up the match in 14.3 overs by losing just three wickets.
Most Indian players to be rested after they came in contact with Krunal Pandya, who had tested positive for the virus. No sooner did the match end, cricket fans began to inundate Twitter with hilarious memes with some declaring Pandya the real Man Of The Match even though he had made no contribution in the match.
Many fans felt that Krunal was the reason why most regular Indian players had to miss out on the match since they had come in contact with him.
