“I don’t speak to those who speak against my country Pakistan”: Babar Azam rejected Irfan Pathan’s request for interview? Video sets internet on fire

The internet has exploded after it emerged that Pakistani cricket captain, Babar Azam, had rejected a request for an interview by former India cricketer Irfan Pathan. The person, who made the stunning claim, said that Babar was angry with Pathan for the latter’s constant criticism of Pakistan.

A video shared by Babar Azam Army fan page showed a Pakistani journalist make the stunning claim. The person in the video was seen saying, “Irfan Pathan had visit Babar Azam once and he tried to interview Babar Azam for Star (Sports).”

The person in the video went on to add that Pathan, who works for Star Sports as a commentator, had first sent a production team from the TV channel to Babar with an interview request. “Babar ne lift hi nahi karayi. Then Irfan said that he will personally speak with Babar. Babar said that he doesn’t talk to those who who speak against Pakistan.”

This has prompted Pakistani cricket fans to set the social media on fire by praising the Pakistani skipper.

User Saad wrote, “Irfan Pathan contacted babar Azam for interview on behalf of Star sports, but Babar Azam refused by saying that I don’t speak to those who speak against my country Pakistan. Absolute KING Behaviour !!!!”



Another user wrote, “Babar Azam rejecting Irfan Pathan with Grace.” “Babar Azam knows the reality of Irfan Pathan. That’s why he refused for interview to star sports after Bangladesh match in Kolkata,” wrote another user on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Irfan Pathan had famously performed a dance inside a cricket stadium the day Afghanistan defeated Pakistan in their World Cup encounter. The former India player has also been mocking Pakistan with his ‘padosi’ jibe routinely. Pathan’s dance celebration on Pakistan’s defeat had angered many former Pakistani players including Abdul Razzaq, who said that no one wanted to see Pakistan in the semi-final.

Pathan has not reacted to the claims made by Pakistanis.
