Gautam Gambhir lashes out at Bishan Singh Bedi and Chetan Chauhan after Navdeep Saini makes impressive debut

Former India cricketer and now BJP MP, Gautam Gambhir, has lashed out at two Indian cricketing legends namely Bishan Singh Bedi and Chetan Chauhan for writing ‘obituary’ for Navdeep Saini, who was instrumental in India’s Two win against West Indies on Saturday.

Gambhir wrote, “Kudos Navdeep Saini on ur India debut. U already have 2 wkts even before u have bowled— @BishanBedi & @ChetanChauhanCr. Their middle stumps are gone seeing debut of a player whose cricketing obituary they wrote even before he stepped on the field, shame!!!”

Gambhir’s ire against Bedi and Chauhan, two members of the Delhi District Cricket Association, stems from the fact that the two had opposed his request for Saini’s inclusion in the Delhi Ranji team last year. Both Bedi and Chauhan had reportedly opposed Saini’s inclusion on the grounds that the pacer from Haryana had not represented Delhi at a junior level and was being considered as an outsider.

Saini on Saturday took three wickets in a low-scoring match against West Indies and was adjudged Man Of The Match. Reacting to his impressive bowling, his captain Virat Kohli had said, “The bowlers were on top throughout, variations were superb. Navdeep is from Delhi and he’s come a long way. He plays the IPL as well and had a great season.”
