The biggest danger of subconsciously believing in an ideology or a belief without outwardly proclaiming it is that often, it comes out in public domain even when you’ve not intended the same.
On some occasions, you may be pardoned for making such innocuous mistakes, while there will be times when they will come to cause considerable embarrassment to you.
The Freudian slip for Zee News probably occurred, when Supreme Court passed a historic verdict against the Centre’s Narendra Modi government. It was widely believed as a crushing blow to the ruling dispensation except Zee News, which appeared ‘hell-bent’ on believing only ‘partially’ that the Supreme Court’s verdict on Arunachal Pradesh was a setback for the BJP and the Modi government.
The channel flashed two headlines on the same screen. While the top headline correctly called the judgement a setback for Modi, as you travelled downward, the headline mysteriously had given way to, “Setback for Congress from the Supreme Court.”
The screenshot, when shared on social media, became viral. While for majority, the gaffe provided ‘I-told-you-so moment,’ we would like to believe that the error had nothing to do with the channel’s alleged biases for the saffron party.
Meanwhile, this has become a topic of serious conversation on social media.
