“What can be more shameful?”: DWC chief Swati Maliwal wants Delhi Police to arrest man, who threatened to rape Virat Kohli’s 9-month-old daughter

Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal has taken a dim view of the Hindutva fanatic, who issued a rape threat to the 9-month-old daughter Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his actor wife Anushka Sharma.

Maliwal said, “I am informed that some people are threatening to rape the 9-month-old daughter of Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. That’s because India lost to Pakistan and Virat Kohli supported Mohammad Shami when he was being targeted because of his religion. What can be more shameful than this?”

Maliwal said that the DCW had issued a notice to the Delhi Police asking them to file an FIR at the earliest in the case. “The Delhi Police should immediately arrest those people,” Maliwal added.

Twitter user @cricketcrazyygirl had taken to social media to write, “Shame @AnushkaSharma. Waiting for Vamika’s photos to get revealed so that we can fcuk her. (sic)”

The Hindutva troll had ended his tweet with a disgusting hashtag #ChupRehBhadweViratKohli. The same hashtag was also used by people linked with Hindutva fake news platform OpIndia.

Kohli had slammed Hindutva fanatics for hounding Shami due to his religious identity in the aftermath of India’s defeat to Pakistan in the World Cup.

Attacking Hindutva hatemongers for questioning Shami’s patriotism, Kohli had said that this was ‘the most pathetic thing human being can do.’

“There is a good reason why we are playing on the field and not some bunch of spineless people on social media that have no courage to actually speak to any individual in person. This is the lowest level of human form, attacking someone over religion is the most pathetic thing human being can do,” Kohli had said in a press conference.

India had lost to Pakistan for the first time in the history of World Cup cricket, triggering backlash from Hindutva hatemongers.
