The Uttar Pradesh Police have taken a dim view and directed the cyber cell to initiate action against Urban Dictionary for posting a demeaning definition of former Chief Minister Mayawati. This was after angry netizens trended #SuspendUrbanDictionary on Twitter demanding action against the website.
Urban Dictionary had posted a tweet explaining the definition of Mayawati. Its tweet read, “Mayawati, An unmarried pornstar. A woman who can do everything for power. Kanshi Ram’s secret wife and ex-girlfriend of Mulayam Singh.”
No sooner did Urban Dictionary share the objectionable tweet, netizens began to demand action against the website by using hashtag #SuspendUrbanDictionary.
Dear @rsprasad @GoI_MeitY This is very serious. Take strong action against the culprits. @TwitterIndia @verified @TwitterSafety @manishm @amritat this is unacceptable. There must be some Indian guy behind this bot. Must be arrested. #SuspendUrbanDictionary https://t.co/789io2SK4T

Earlier, Urban Dictionary had defined Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as a ‘conman who tricked people his friends to come to power.’ It had written, ”
A conman planted by anti india forces in india. It’s a curse word for masses. Instead of saying rotten dog you can just say kejriwal. You used to hate politicians and now you’re hand in glove with them. You’re such a kejriwal. (sic)”
Not too long ago, actor Randeep Hooda had courted controversy by cracking dirty jokes at the expense of Mayawati.
