India’s Aditi Ashok is being hailed by netizens even after the 23-year-old golfer narrowly missed out on an Olympic medal in the women’s golf competition at the Tokyo Olympics. Aditi, who was comfortably placed at the third position in the leaderboard after 16th hole in the fourth round, ended the competition 15 under, narrowly edged by Lydia Ko of New Zealand and Mone Inami of Japan both of whom finishing 16 under.
Nelly Korda of the US went on to win the Gold medal.
With two holes to go in the fourth round, the play was suspended briefly due to rains. Aditi was placed third when the play had to be stopped. However, she failed to maintain her lead after the play resumed.
This did not stop fans to applaud the heroic efforts of the Indian golfer from Bengaluru.

When the 200th ranked player ends up in fourth place, it’s an unbelievable achievement. 2mm off in that putt from a medal. So proud of you Aditi Ashok.
