Two aircraft of the Surya Kiran Aerobatics Team crashed at the Yelahanka airbase in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning. Two pilots ejected before the crash while the third is reported to have died. The pilot killed in the crash is identified as Sahil Gandhi.

MN Reddi, DG of Police in Karnataka State and Chief of Fire & Emergency Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence & State Disaster Response Force Karnataka Director General of Police, tweeted, “Mid air crash at Yelahanka Air Show practice. One Indian Air Force suspected dead. 2 injured but out of danger. Heading to spot.”

Reddi’s subsequent tweet said one IAF personnel had died in the crash. He wrote, “One IAF pilot suspected to have died in the air crash.”
