Singer Toshi Sabri has lashed out at the Indian cricket captain, Virat Kohli, and other cricketers for sharing a viral crying video of his niece saying the cricketers did not know the child better than him.
Sabri said that the child was his niece and that the video had not been meant for public circulation.
A video of crying child had gone viral on social media platforms. In the video, the child is seen crying in pain as her mother beats her for not being able to read properly. Sabri told Hindustan Times that the child was ‘stubborn’ and was filmed as proof.
He told the paper, “The video was made by the child’s mother, who wanted to show her brother and husband how stubborn the girl has become. Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan don’t know about us. We know about our child better. Her nature is such that after being scolded, the next minute she runs off to play. But because of her nature if we don’t push her, she won’t study.”
The video has been viewed millions of times when posted by Virat, Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan, on their respective social media pages.
Virat had written, “The fact that the pain and anger of the child is ignored and ones own ego to make the child learn is so massive that compassion has totally gone out of the window. This is shocking and saddening to another dimension. A child can never learn if intimidated. This is hurtful.”
