Former India wicket-keeper Parthiv Patel has demanded that the so-called journalist, who threatened Wriddhiman Saha for an interview be exposed to protect the journalists in India. This came hours after Saha sensationally shared a screenshot of his WhatsApp chat whereby an unnamed ‘journalist’ was seen threatening him for ignoring his calls and not granting an interview to him. While Saha did not name the so-called journalist, it didn’t take long for Twitterati to understand the culprit behind threatening messages to the cricketer.

Reacting to the controversy, Patel tweeted, “A ‘journalist’ threatening a player and that too an India player for an interview must be new and certainly a low point. That so-called journalist needs to be exposed so that entire community doesn’t get a bad name. Cricketing community is with you.”

Saha on Sunday had exposed a ‘respected’ journalist for issuing him threats on WhatsApp as he shared a screenshot of his chat. This was after he publicly exposed BCCI President Sourav Ganguly in relation to his non-selection for the Indian team.

Saha had tweeted, “After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so-called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone.”

In the WhatsApp chat in question, the ‘respected’ journalist was seen writing to the cricketer in a menacing tone, “Do an interview with me. Will be good. If you want to be democratic, then I won’t push.”

The so-called journalist had continued, “They choose one wicket-keeper. Whoever is the best. You try to choose 11 journalists which is not the best. Choose whoever can help the most.(sic)”
