Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has now got a bullet-proof Mercedes worth Rs. 5 crores for his upcoming tours of the state. The cost of the bus with hi-tech features will be borne by the state itself.
The bus was brought to Hyderabad from Chandigarh this morning.
“Our Chief Minister will also be travelling in a state road transport corporation bus just like the common people of the state,” a spokesperson in the Chief Minister’s office has told NDTV.
“It is not really a luxury bus. It doesn’t even have a bed inside. It only has 12 seats for staff from the Chief Minister’s Office to travel with him and hold meetings while on the move,” he added.
The Chief Minister has reportedly turned the bedroom onboard into a work-area space. The bus also enables easy stair access for the Chief Minister from inside to the roof in order to help him make public appearances.
Rao will travel to various districts as part of Telanganaku Haritha Haram, which is projected to be a massive tree plantation drive in the state.
