External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj flags-off the first batch of the annual Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in New Delhi today.
The Yatra, organised by the External Affairs Ministry (EAM) every year between June and Septemeber, holds special significance for Hindus. Hundreds of people every year embark on this journey to the abode of Lord Shiva, relishing in the cultural, religious and spiritual aura associated with it.
“You all are very lucky, so many applied but your lottery worked, actually you have received Bhagwan Shankar’s bulava,”came a statement from the EAM.
The serene natural landscapes and awe-inspiring views too make this Yatra a great attraction for adventure junkies and nature explorers.
The Yatra-2015 is being conducted between 08 June and 09 September through two different routes – Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathu La in Sikkim.
