After the Centre demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes on November 8, from the next day onwards the temple trust started accepting donations and making other transactions through credit or debit cards, the trust’s chief accountant Babasaheb Ghorpade said.

However, the defunct notes have been found in the temple’s ‘hundis’ (cash boxes) and the trust is depositing it in the nationalised banks, he added.
