Two bags containing a total of Rs 10 lakh were found at Andhra Pradesh’s Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Welfare, Peethala Sujatha’s house on Tuesday.
According to reports, police was called by one of the servants when two bags were found abandoned at her bungalow in Eluru town in West Godavari district. The bag has been taken into custody and the minister is being inquired by the Income Tax officials about the same.
Claiming the incident as attempt to defame her, Sujatha told a news agency “I don’t even know the woman whose money it is.”
The bags, which initially led to a bomb scare, have been found at a time when a Telugu Desam Party MLA, Revanth Reddy in Telangana is being alleged in a cash-for-vote scam.
